The "hoods"

Last week we went 'hood' strawberry picking. What the heck is a 'hood' strawberry? Great question! It's the best of the season strawberry you can find here in Oregon. They typically only last three to four weeks so you need to get'em while you can!

It was a beautiful day so Seamus and I arranged to meet my friend Marwa, also a fruit picking lover! We enjoyed our time sitting in the field picking berries, and tasting them, while having good conversation.

The Real That Remains

The pathways of the heart invite us down many seemingly contradictory paths that all lead to one goal-the discovery of our real self. What this means is difficult to communicate. We know that it has to do with letting go, with surrender, with learning even under the most trying conditions of life. Perhaps life is calling you to let go, trust and find a deeper center within you, even as things around you seem to be falling away. Sometimes we don't have a choice about letting go. Other times, we can choose consciously. In either case, using this pathway with in your inner self is another way of reminding it, with love and respect, "All is not as it once was. All is not today as it will be. Eventually, only the face of the One remains."

Bagua Biscuits

We have a tradition on Sunday mornings to make biscuits, much like our Saturday morning pancake breakfast that a little boy has grown to expect!

Heron

A few times a week I spot a Heron resting in the swamp next to where I check the mail.
